Åmøy Alpaca Farm is located on Vestre Åmøy, a 20-minute drive north from downtown Stavanger and only 3 km from the E39.
We, Ane Monica Birkeland and Egil Vareberg, wondered for a long time what we should do with our farm. By chance, we read about alpacas in the media in the spring of 2013, and our interest was sparked. We received our first two animals (vallas) in the fall of 2013. In February of the following year, three pregnant females arrived at the farm. The herd is growing year by year. In the summer of 2014, we launched our farm shop. In the farm shop, we offer a good selection of soft and delightful alpaca products for both young and old. We also sell alpaca yarn and carded fleece from our own animals. Our yarn retains the animals' natural colors and is not artificially dyed.
In the fall of 2016, we started our online store under the name www.alpakkabutikken.nowhere you will find almost the same selection as in our farm shop.
In the summer of 2022, we started offering alpaca walks.
An alpaca walk means taking a guided tour with an alpaca on a lead rope.
